The hardest part about my job is that I can’t be at two places at once.
What are your duties in preventing organized crime and terror?
Neighborhood watches, partnerships with federal partners and great information sharing
How many calls does your department respond to on average each day?
1000 a day more or less
what is APD protocol when it comes to a scenario of a gunmen on the loose?
It depends. Sometime we play defense and sometime offense depending on the circumstances or environment
Do neighborhood watches also play a role in protecting the general public?
Of course – they are critical to the safety of our community
What is your recommendations in school safety?
Good communication plans are as important as the physical security. You have to inform parents, teachers and the community
What was your most important reason to choose this job?
I chose policing because it was a calling and because I felt I could make a difference in people’s lives
