As we finish the last minute clean-up and preparation of our small simple fare of Thanksgiving dinner with my immediate family, I can’t help but think of those who are not able to sit down and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with loved one. Those who in the name of “duty” are working so that we can safe and enjoy this special occasion.
While many of us are preparing (or maybe even in the process of) to sit down w/ our family , our friends, our loved ones. There are many who are working this day so that we may have a safe and fun Thanksgiving. The soldiers (often across the globe) away from their loved ones -Fighting for our freedoms; The police officers who are protecting us and keeping our streets safe; The fire fighters who are on-duty through out the day and night, putting out fires (often caused by careless and stupidity); The rescue workers who come to the rescue of those who decide to “enjoy” just a little too much. Fires, accidents, wars, break-ins, murders, kidnappings, etc — all those things don’t take a break for Thanksgiving.
These men and women protect us and keep us safe 365 days a year 24 hours a day and I am Thankful (more than I can say) for their many sacrifices every day, but never so much as on Thanksgiving day when I think that they not only make the normal sacrifices, but also the sacrifice of being with family and friends.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to ALL the Soldiers, Police Officers, Soldiers, Rescue Workers, Paramedic/EMTS out there. Thanks You for keeping us SAFE
