The sirens sound as lights go flashing by
Somewhere a fire, a life perhaps in danger.
They know not what lies ahead
Only that which is relayed.
With the rush of adrenalin
They head towards the unknown.
Will the fire be small and manageable
Or large and out of control.
The possibility of backdraft looms
The chance of a cave-in threatens.
But in they go without question
Without thought of themselves.
Looking for any life that may hiding
Amidst the darkened smoke.
Risking life and limb
For the Sake of others.
