“Don’t be afraid to speak up if something doesn’t feel or look right. It may just be your own life you’re saving” That’s the safety message I received from @PublicSafetyEDU….
How many times have you been in a situation where things just didn’t feel right or didn’t look right. Perhaps you were just at the right view point to notice a potential hazard that others couldn’t see, but were afraid of saying anything because you didn’t want to look like a fool. Surely others have noticed what you have…. Right?!? At the very least the Incident Commander or Safety Officer must have seen the hazard – Correct?!? Perhaps — But perhaps not. There’s a catchphrase going around there…. “See something, Say something”. If you see something, SPEAK UP about it. Don’t assume that others have seen the danger . Don’t assume it’s already been taken care of. Better to look the fool and find out that the problems already been noticed – and addressed, then to assume otherwise and put yourself and your “brothers” in danger.
Remember: Stay Alert, Stay Safe, Stay Alive!!!
