I like to get these “tweetalong transcripts” out in a more timely manner than this, but it didn’t quite go as planned this time.
@Tucson_Police joined the Tweetalong family, doing their first (?), of (hopefully) more to come.
Keep in mind the times are that of when tweets were received not actual time of calls (and for reference only).
08:10. Report of a collision blocking traffic at Speedway/Camino Seco. Use caution in the area. No reports of injuries.
09:12. Operations Division Midtown, Squad 4 starting their shift in briefing.
10:07. We are working several collisions across the city. Remember wet roads require more braking distance. SlowDown!!
11:16. Since midnight we have generated nearly 400 event numbers/service requests.
12:55. Operations Division West Officers respond to report of burglary in progress and detain one suspect.
14:52. Here’s a photo of what it looks like in Commo. This is a first-class facility.
A couple extra tidbits learned about the Tucson Police Department
There are 5 Patrol Divisions, each division will have 2-3 squads on, then more as swing shifts overlap.
TPD covers 230 square miles, servicing a population of 524k and is the 32nd largest city in the US.
