After the fact I can laugh about this, though it wasn’t all that funny at the time.
Several days ago I (stupidly, I’ll admit) had squeezed my arm between the fridge and the cabinet trying to reach the dust pan that had migrated it’s way to the back of the little cubby space there. I couldn’t quite get my hand on it so decided to pull my arm out and try a different approach. One problem — I couldn’t pul my arm out. It went in easily enough (well fairly easily) but refused to come out. “Why not move the fridge over a couple inches” you ask?? I tried, but there’s a cabinet on the other side of the fridge as well and the minuscule amount me (and then my husband) were able to move it wasn’t enough to get my arm out. To be honest I was a hairbreadth from thinking that we might just have to call the local firefighters to “pull” me out of this mess.
Maybe it’s sheer determination or the fact that having to call 9-1-1 for something so incredibly stupid as getting your arm stuck was a beyond embarrassing proposition, either way I managed to pull my arm out by sheer force (and got a nice bruise for my efforts:
The whole thing brought me somewhat of a sense of de ja vu from the time when I actually did end up calling for help for something equally (if not more) stupid – Getting my fingers stuck in beaters (this link will take you to my personal blog – Jottings and Writings).
I’ll tell you this much… I’ll be that much more careful about drying off beaters using running hand mixer AND…. I won’t be trying to fit arm into space between fridge & cabinet (or other tight spots).
So Now that you’ve had your laugh for the day. Make it a Great One and STAY SAFE!!!
