I’m going to have to forego my usual Safety Tips post. It’s been a long and busy (yet satisfying day), but I’m ready for some relaxing.
Earlier this morning, while driving my son to school, another vehicle zipped around me to get ahead of me as 2 lanes were merging into one. This wasn’t a situation where the car was right next to me but rather was more behind…. He just guns it to get around me. And if seeing that wasn’t irritating enough?!? – Try seeing a prominent IAFF Fire Department sticker on said vehicle…. Guys, when your driving a vehicle that (in any way) represents the fire department, even if it’s your own personal vehicle, think about what you’re doing and how those actions represent your department. Luckily, in my case I am a huge supporter of our fire fighters.
My other interesting venture with the fire department – A nice big red engine turning right in front of me. The power brakes (?) are out in our car and stopping (even slowing) takes considerable effort – There was a second there, when the engine was turning in front of me, where I was worried.
