What is a Tweetalong?

A Tweetalong is where an officer (usually, but not always, one who is a part of the Public Relations or Social Media Department) tweets about the events during a shift.

Click HERE to listen to my interview with Officer McDonnell & Sergeant (now Lieutenant) Cook from Arlington PD and Corporal Knight & Sergeant Peel from Fort Worth PD  – on Blog Talk Radio – about using Social Media and how it helps connect with the community.

Typically, Tweetalongs are done by Police Departments, but I so no reason that it could not be done by any Public Service Organization (Police, Fire, EMS, Emergency Dispatch, etc).

Most of my Tweetalongs Transcripts have been through the Arlington Police Department, however I have also done some from a couple other departments. I am open to doing tweetalongs from any Public Service Organization similar to what was just mentioned. If you’d like to me to do a transcript for your tweetalong please contact me: festidbits@gmail.com
